Tourism Congress of the Philippines Annual Meeting 2023



The Tourism Congress of the Philippines convened its annual meeting, themed “Gearing Up for the Tourism Industry’s New Chapter,” on November 24, 2023. Noteworthy attendees included Edison Bumatay, the National Executive President, Kiana Celine Lugtu, the Student Director for External Affairs and Linkages, along with Dr. Kathleen G. Apilado the Treasurer of the Board of Trustees and Sir Oral Robert Roxas, Adviser for Training and Development Committee.

“Be My Guest” Initiative: Highlighting the “BBMG” campaign aimed at promoting tourism within the Philippines.

Investment and Improvements in Tourism: A directive to invest in the betterment and enhancement of the tourism sector, with a focus on emerging Muslim-friendly destinations, elevating global standings, and garnering accolades such as “Asia’s Leading Dive Destination” and “Asia’s Best Cruise Destination.”

Infrastructure Development: Highlighting the establishment of five new cruise terminals in Boracay, Coron, Puentigue, and Puerto Guelera, facilitating organized and well-received operations from visitors worldwide, prioritizing their welfare and ensuring a seamless experience.

Accessibility Initiatives: Introducing the “Hop On, Hop Off” bus service to enhance travel convenience within the Philippines.

Promoting the Philippines: A call to celebrate the beauty of the Philippines through the Travel Philippines campaign, emphasizing that there’s always a reason to love the country.

The meeting concluded with an inspiring vision for the Philippines, entering a new era and a “Golden Age,” emphasizing strength in unity, inclusivity, and sustainability.
