𝐌𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 🙏🏻
Let us commemorate this Christian Holy day as today is known as the 𝑾𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒓.Maundy means “𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙤𝙧, 𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙅𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙨’ 𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙨’ 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙙𝙖𝙮”. Maundy came from the Old French mande, in turn from the Latin mandatum which means “𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙”. The specific command at hand refers to the words Jesus have spoken after washing their feet during Last Supper, which was in the New King James Version of the 𝐆𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧, 13:34, “𝘼 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙄 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧; 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙨 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧.” We hear and see news everyday, of how cruel the world gets. May today be a reminder for us, that Jesus sees and loves us equally and 𝙬𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙅𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨, 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨.
