Last May 21, 2026, a crucial public consultation was held at the Somerset Central Salcedo in Makati City to review the newly drafted Rules and Regulations Governing the Accreditation of Tourist Retail Enterprises.
The event gathered key tourism stakeholders for a comprehensive deep-dive into compliance parameters, strict official accreditation protocols, and the legal penalty matrix. These collaborative discussions are designed to protect, elevate, and standardize the Filipino tourist experience across the retail sector.
This event was participated in by the following JTHMAP representative alongside the Department of Tourism (DOT) Standards Development Division and DOT-NCR:
โข Mr. John Brienford Calunod, Board of Trustee
Through this engagement, JTHMAP continues to take part in conversations that support innovation, sustainability, and stronger partnerships in the tourism and hospitality industry. Our participation ensures that the next generation of hospitality executives is fully aligned with institutional policies, regulatory enforcement, and ethical industry practices.
Building a stronger, more regulated future for Philippine tourism starts with learning, working together, and taking action today.
